The Persian Deserts & Mountain Woodlands bioregion is part of the Persian Deserts & Forests subrealm located in the Central Eurasia realm (central Palearctic). It contains four ecoregions—Kuh Rud and Eastern Iran Montane Woodlands (757), Central Persian Desert Basins (820), Registan-North Pakistan Sandy Desert (838), South Iran Nubo-Sindian Desert and Semi-Desert (841)—totaling approximately 134 million hectares of land area.
