Freshwater Wetlands

Biome

Freshwater wetlands are water-saturated lands—including marshes, swamps, and bogs—that filter water, prevent flooding, and provide habitat for amphibians, birds, and insects. Unlike brackish or marine wetlands, these biomes contain little to no salt.
