Marine Wetlands

Biomes

Marine wetlands are coastal saltwater ecosystems influenced by waves, currents, and tides. They support salt-tolerant plants such as seagrass and kelp, help protect shorelines, and provide essential habitats for wading birds, shellfish, and marine mammals. Unlike mangroves, they do not contain large salt-tolerant trees.
