Welcoming Will Peterffy to One Earth’s Board of Directors

One Earth is honored to welcome Will Peterffy to our Board of Directors. As the Founder and CEO of One Small Planet, Will brings a deep passion for nature, sustainable business practices, and innovative financial strategies. His leadership and expertise will help One Earth continue developing practical solutions for a healthier planet.

A leader in sustainability and impact-driven finance

Will has dedicated his career to bridging the gap between the natural world and the financial sector. In 2020, he founded One Small Planet, an organization committed to aligning business with environmental well-being. His goal is to build an economy that not only supports people but also protects the planet for future generations.

Beyond his work at One Small Planet, Will serves as Chair of the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Committee at IBKR and is a board member of Bioneers. He brings extensive experience in sustainable finance, land conservation, and investing in businesses that prioritize environment.

One Small Planet: A holistic approach

One Small Planet is built on four guiding principles, inspired by Earth's elements, to achieve worldwide sustainability:

• Air: Fostering community through shared learning, wisdom, and vision – bringing together thought leaders, investors, artists, and Indigenous knowledge keepers to shape a collective vision for planetary well-being.
• Earth: Advancing rewilding and regenerative land projects – acting as stewards of ecologically vital lands, working with natural systems to enhance biodiversity and resilience.
• Fire: Driving impact-focused capital investment – using conscious capital to fund businesses and technologies that support regenerative economic systems, prioritizing long-term ecological and social well-being.
• Water: Championing philanthropy for the preservation of what is vital – supporting Indigenous-led and frontline organizations dedicated to  protecting water, land, and cultural heritage.

Reflecting on his new role with One Earth, Will shared:

Coretta Anderson, Board Member — Senior Manager at Earthjustice , with over a decade of experience in strategic engagement and public outreach.
Jay Halfon, Board Member — An attorney and public policy strategist advising organizations on climate campaigns and tax-exempt issues.
Rick Ridgeway, Board Member — An outdoor adventurer and former Patagonia VP, known for his sustainability initiatives and conservation efforts.
Rachel Rivera, Treasurer — COO of Wild Lives Foundation, dedicated to marine and wildlife conservation.
Tenzin Seldon, Board Member — Founder and Managing Partner at Pulse Fund, investing in high-growth climate companies.
Sarah Woodhead, Board Member — Co-founder of the Leuser Ecosystem Action Fund (LEAF), working to protect rainforest habitats in Sumatra.
Justin Winters, Co-founder and Executive Director — Also serves as President of the Board of Directors at One Earth.
